I dozed a bit at work today while I was on break. Actually it wasn’t so much a doze as I walked into the back room, set the timer and crashed. A big thank you to Mrs. M for the lovely cough and cold she’s given me. My meds kicked out on me at about one. So anyway, after I managed to drag myself out of the back room, I wasn’t quite awake yet, and I still felt all out of it. The lights out on the floor were too bright and the flat fold table was apparently closer than it appeared. I was so happy when Rose clocked in and told me I could go home. (Yay!)
Erm… One week til dance recital day. My costume just needs one last touch before it’s perfect. I should post a picture of the skirt Cyndi made for me. It’s awesome.
School will be out soon, and I’ll either be painfully bored or my days will be filled with lots and lots of JoAnn’s-y goodness. Good for the paycheck, but I wish my boss would have let me have Thursdays off. I can’t work Mondays because I assume I’ll be at Nanny and Papa’s as usual, but I would like to have a proper day off as well. And Thursday would be the day to do it, because I’ll have dance that night. I get the feeling the the boss-lady would like very much to schedule me every day of the week. I need at least one day where I can count on sleeping in til noon. It’s my summer thing. It’s how I celebrate.
So, to end, here’s a video of a pair of really great American Tribal style belly dancers. ATS is my style, not the scary kind you get at birthday parties.
Actually, I have a ton of time. I want to get the skirt I’m going to make for dance class done within the next month, but I have no idea how to read the pattern itself. It’s probably not terribly difficult, but I’ve never tried to read one before. So I’m going to ask at work today. Problem solved.
I have no topic, have you noticed?
Ahm… ack. See what happens when you tell me to blog?
I had to re-pierce my ears the other day. They still hurt, but I’m pretty sure that’s because I wore heavy earrings yesterday. I had to, it was St. Patrick’s Day! I bet you forgot, didn’t you? Everyone else did. It was the forgotten holiday this year. I reminded, like, seven people yesterday at work. I wore a green ribbon in my hair and borrowed mum’s green earrings that Paris gave her. And now my ears hurt. So, yeah…
You know, I was going to practice my clarinet during vacation, but someone at Ron’s decided that they were going to take FOREVER fixing it. Grrr.
I should probably get ready for work. Sorry this blog isn’t particularly interesting.
Love Minimelia.
I had a project for physics class on my jump drive, saved using apple’s stupid version of Microsoft word. I have spent the past three hours, trying to keep my laptop charged with one hand and retyping the entire bleeding report with the other, because while transferring the file to my laptop, all the data was corrupted. And my laptop, for some reason, does not have Word on it. ARGH!!!
Now, the whole report, bibliography and cover page are on my jump drive, but I don’t trust it. I also can’t find a website to upload it to that I can access through the school’s paranoid firewall system. So, if the school computers mess up my report tomorrow, I’m going to die. Death by McMahon and Saturday school.
The school is actually preventing students from getting things done by blocking every single useful website. I can’t even post it in here, because all blogs are blocked. All forums.
Did I mention ARGH!!!!! ?
Heh heh… So, a few months ago, I was sorting through a ginormous stack of papers for Mrs. M, my TA teacher, and I came across a printout from this website called iusedtobelieve.com . Yesterday I finally checked it out and I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. It’s just a site where you can post the silly things you believed when you were a kid, and some of them are so hilarious! The one that got me was in the Pledge of Allegiance section, something about “the un-spited plates of Bavaria,” and “one Asian, under god.” I picture the lead singer of Nightmare holding a doughnut.
On a completely different note, I had the New World Symphony: Adagio – Allegro Molto stuck in my head yesterday at work, only I’d get about halfway through and forget how the next bit went. It drove me nuts for hours, until I remembered how it went an hour before I got off.
For your reference, it’s the bit at 3:10, and the conductor seems a bit spaz-tastic to me.
AND HE WON’T LEAVE!!!
Saw Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Christmas Day. Loved it, even though it was really gory. I loved the music so much that I downloaded the soundtrack off iTunes the day after. Since then, I haven’t been able to get the songs out of my head! It’s driving me nuts, especially at work where I can’t pop my iPod on. I can’t stop humming “A Little Priest” .
But it’s really good music.
I really love the smell of uncooked rice. Go figure. I suppose it stems from my kindergarten days. There was this big bin full of uncooked rice and measuring cups that you could play around in during play time. I don’t remember what it was for. Maybe it was supposed to teach us how to read measuring cups, I dunno. But now that I have a rice cooker, I smell it every time I open my little tub of rice to make some.
Or it could just be the fact that I think it smells really good.
Well kiddo, here’s your spanky new blog. I hope you use it well. You know I will be nagging you to blog frequently so get used to it
You can delete this post when you start blogging. I’ll show you what to do to post later on. I was also able to give you some forums, but had to start fresh there. I’ve also opened a Flickr account for you to use for your pics, and I stuck a few in there just for fun. I’ll show you how that works later as well.
We can tweak the header image up top and stuff, I know you aren’t fond of the pink, but I love it with the grey
So I went with it. I also love the Quote-y looking side boxes and the comment buttons. It’s shpiffy.
Anyway, enjoy. Use it well, use it a lot.
