    about a girl

Why the name? Well, 'Melia' is my middle name. It's also my mum's middle name and she goes by Melia everywhere online. So, I chose to go around as MiniMelia :) Simple, no?

I love cats...they taste just like chicken.

Any year you can walk away from...

2006 is over. And it's been good. Nothing bad happened this year, which is always good, and lots of good things did. We went up to Montana with Jo to see Gary and Charlotte and Nora, I started my sophomore year without a hitch, we moved (HURRAY!!!!!), we went to Gunter and Beca's wedding reception, and... errrrmm... uh... huh. I'm having issues remembering everything we did. Oh well, nothing new there!
So, Christmas was awesome. We had a little party Christmas Eve at the G's with the cousins, we opened presents (which I'll rattle off later), hung out and ate. Christmas morning, mom and I opened presents too. Wish we could have spent some time with Jo and Tom closer to Christmas, but with these stupid ice storms, driving would have been a bad idea. Oh well.
Ok, so Christmas haul: $20 in a Hastings card, manicure kit (if only I could figure it out!), a beautiful necklace, tons of eye shadow , a rainbow-maker-prism thing, a pretty pair of earrings, a rice cooker (I actually begged for it, and I LOVE it) and PlayStation 2!!!!! PS2Ps2PS2. And two games to go with the PS2, The Hobbit! and Dance Dance Revolution. I've been playing DDR constantly, only stopping for rice. Seriously good haul. -nod, nod-
Oh yeah, speech meets. So, I'm on the sppech team this year, my event is informative speeches and my topic is the Cirque Du Soleil. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but meets are so nerve-wracking. Hanna says it's gets easier. But so far, I've been to two meets and I've placed at both. :D!!!!!!! I took fourth at the first one and seventh at the second. I'm actually more proud of the seventh place one, because I'm just a novice, having joined just this year, and that was varsity meet. I was up against the higher-ups, man. I was one of two novice that placed, and the other one who placed is really very good.
So, yeah, that's what I can remember of my year. Maybe I'll blog more often in the next one, so I can look back at them and say, "Huh. So that's what I did." :D Happy New Year!
