    about a girl

Why the name? Well, 'Melia' is my middle name. It's also my mum's middle name and she goes by Melia everywhere online. So, I chose to go around as MiniMelia :) Simple, no?

I love cats...they taste just like chicken.

Okay, it's dorky, but I'm happy.

So, for the longest time (I'm talking years) I have been searching for this one particular song. It's a children's song, and I could only recall the tune and a few of the words. I knew it was called Russian Lullaby on the tape, and that it was sung by (insert word here) Sisters. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of children's music singers with 'Sisters' in their name, so whenever I tried to search, I could never ever find it. I began to think I would never hear the song again, and that made me very sad, because it's such a pretty song. Anyway, a few days ago, on a whim, I decided to give it one more shot and I Googled it. I Googled what tiny bit of lyrics I could remember, the name, along with the word sisters, and was about to give up again when I tried just 'Russian Lullaby Children's Music.' Up popped an amazon.com page listing the song, by the Chenille Sisters, for sale by one seller. I clicked it and I saw the cover of the cd, and it was the same picture I remembered from my old tape. You wouldn't believe how happy I was. However, I wasn't going to buy the whole cd for one little song, no matter how much I wanted it, so I checked ITunes, and there it was! Happy me. (Mom has no recollection of this tape of mine, even though she tried to get me to sing the dinosaur song on it when I was four.)
Anyway, the whole reason I'm posting this is because there might be a few people out there like me who are trying to find it with limited memories of the song. It's a very good song. So I'm posting the lyrics for anyone to google them so they could possibly find it. See how kindhearted I am?
    Darkness is falling
    The moon will be rising
    The stars will be shining
    The sun's gone to sleep
Close your eyes and I'll rock you gently
And wish you sweet dreams while you sleep
    Good night, good night,
Now it is time to sleep.
It's repeated in a three-part round after that for some absolutely lovely harmonies. Isn't it pretty?
Anyway, I thought I might share my story of stupid triumph.
And if you call me a dork for liking a children's song so much, I'll make you listen to bad, repetitive mexican-mariachi-polka music for twenty-four hours straight.
Thank you for putting up with my little rant :)
